So TasteBuds’ Country Manager Alvin was invited to Roosevelt’s for media tasting. I’ve read good things about this new establishment and decided to tag along to enjoy the food. Amanda, the Marketing Manager at Roosevelt’s was quick to comply. Here’s a shout out to Amanda for the kind invite!
Tucked away in a quiet corner of Tanjong Pagar, Roosevelt’s Diner & Bar is an eclectic modern diner that offers hearty all-day dining in a casual environment and at approachable prices. Our menu has a huge slant towards artisanal and gourmet fares, with our food, coffee blends, wines, spirits, and cocktails embodying this focus.

They are located right outside Outram MRT’s exit.
Roosevelt’s spread is rather overwhelming, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I’m sure there will be some who would get confused with such a huge menu, but there will be others who will drool just going through these menus:
The interior decor is tastefully done. If there’s a place you want to spend a lazy afternoon over a cup of coffee by yourself, this is it.
This place also has a great ambiance for dates (they light a candle on the tables after 6pm) or meetups with close friends.
So what are the best dishes you should fill your stomach with over here?
The very Latte that somebody referred to as “horse piss”. Well, to me, “horse kiss” seems more like it.
These Garlic Prawns have got to be one of the best I’ve eaten in the long run… crunchy, fresh, and FAT.
It is tough to find ribs that aren’t. But these Baby Back Ribs are just so tender… like baby. The refreshing salsa that they made in-house shows their finest dedication to details.
Well I didn’t get to try this Jalanpeno Bacon Mac & Cheese, because Alvin ate them up before I could react!
Egg Rooveselt from the breakfast menu. With eggs, potatoes and sausage. A combination that not only brightens but also energizes your day.
This Flour-less Chocolate Cake is rich, dark and sinful. Despite the lack of flour. I think flour-less cakes are a conspiracy. You end up eating more than you really should ;P
As Alvin claimed to be allergic to alcohol, I took over his role by savoring two samples of very fine red wine.
Unfortunately, I don’t know much about wine, except they tend to turn my face red like a shy school boy, so allow me to simply present you with photos of the wine table:
This is certainly an establishment that pays attention to the customers’ experience, service and food quality.
Will visit again, very very soon.
